A Level Maths exam question on functions - differentiation and graph transformations
This A level exam question explores the graph of a function, and involves differentiation with exponentials, the product rule, finding stationary points, graph transformations, and the range of functions. Lots of skills to practice! Enjoy! www.buymeacoffee.com/starfishmaths www.starfishmaths.com starfishmaths@gmail.com
A Level Maths exam question on circles
Today's exam question is on circles. The first part is pretty standard, the second part a bit more creative. Enjoy! www.buymeacoffee.com/starfishmaths www.starfishmaths.com starfishmaths@gmail.com
A Level Maths exam question on factor theorem, algebraic long division and integration
Today's exam question is from an AS paper, all about a polynomial. We use the factor theorem, long division (and I have a new method for that today) and integration to find the area under the curve. Enjoy! www.buymeacoffee.com/starfishmaths www.starfishmaths.com starfishmaths@gmail.com
A Level Mechanics - Forces on a slope and friction
This video is an introduction to managing and resolving forces on a slope. I show you how to label forces, break them into components, write equations and solve them. We use a block at rest on a rough inclined surface. Enjoy! www.buymeacoffee.com/starfishmaths www.starfishmaths.com starfishmaths@gmail.com
A Level Maths exam question on trigonometry multiple angles
Hello! Today we have an A level question about trigonometry, using some identities and multiple angles. Hope it's useful to you! www.buymeacoffee.com/starfishmaths www.starfishmaths.com starfishmaths@gmail.com
A Level Maths exam question on integration by substitution
This is the first video of a more juicy exam question, shot very simply off my screen. A bit different to my usual teaching videos - let me know what you think in the comments! Is it helpful? Do you want more and if so are there any questions you would like me to look at? www.buymeacoffee.com/starfishmaths www.starfishmaths.com starfishmaths@gmail.com
A Level Mechanics - Newton's second law, mass and weight
This video practices using Newton's second law of kinematics, f=ma. A specific example of this distinguishes between mass and weight. Three examples are used, the last of which is on a slope. Enjoy! www.buymeacoffee.com/starfishmaths www.starfishmaths.com starfishmaths@gmail.com
A Level Mechanics - Resolving vectors on force diagrams
This video begins to explore basic force diagrams and resolving vectors. It assumes some knowledge of vectors, which is covered in a previous video. Questions involve finding resultant forces, and using equilibrium. Enjoy! www.buymeacoffee.com/starfishmaths www.starfishmaths.com starfishmaths@gmail.com
A Level Mechanics - Vectors
This video covers the basics of vectors for A Level Maths - starting with how to draw and write them, add them, find the magnitude and direction, find vectors between coordinates, position vectors, and vectors in 3 dimensions. Hope you find something useful! Enjoy www.buymeacoffee.com/starfishmaths www.starfishmaths.com starfishmaths@gmail.com
Binomial approximations
Following on from simple binomial expansions, this video considers when the power is not a positive integer, and a binomial expansion can be used to give an infinite series for approximation. I cover 3 examples, all exam style. Enjoy! www.buymeacoffee.com/starfishmaths www.starfishmaths.com starfishmaths@gmail.com
Proof by contradiction
The second of 2 videos on proof - here we have proof by contradiction. This is a very powerful technique which involves proving that the opposite of a statement can't be true. I cover 5 examples, each full of tips and tricks which you may use again in similar problems. Enjoy! www.buymeacoffee.com/starfishmaths www.starfishmaths.com starfishmaths@gmail.com
Proof - counter examples, proof by exhaustion and direct proof
This is the first video on proof for A Level Maths, covering disproof by counter example, proof by exhaustion and direct proof by deduction. I use a few examples of each, including expressions for odd/even numbers, consecutive integers and rational/irrational numbers. Enjoy! www.buymeacoffee.com/starfishmaths www.starfishmaths.com starfishmaths@gmail.com
Sin and cos rules

newton, made all this in order to make his calculations in physics easier! he invented his own math in order to solve various physics equations. & fun fact, in olden days it took them years to find various formulas, related to surface area & volumes, but with differentiation & integration together , you can do it in about 10 minutes!
